Padel Changed My Life: Confidence, Community & Equality

Padel is not just a sport to me.
It is a tool for confidence, connection, and change.

I’ve seen how padel transforms people — especially women. Women who arrive quietly, unsure, sometimes apologising for taking up space… and weeks later stand taller, laugh louder, and believe more in themselves.

But padel has also shown me that sport is not always fair.

Years ago, while playing in a tournament in Toledo, I discovered that the prize money for women was lower than for men. I remember the feeling clearly — disappointment, anger, and disbelief. Instead of staying silent, I spoke up. I made it visible. And because of that moment, the prizes were changed to be equal.

That experience stayed with me.

Sport should empower, not diminish. It should unite, not divide. And equality should never be optional.

Everyone matters

Padel gives us an incredible opportunity to build communities where respect, inclusion, and fairness are non-negotiable. On a padel court, age, background, accent, and level disappear. What matters is connection, teamwork, and mutual support.

This is why I coach.
This is why I advocate.
This is why I lead.

Padel changed my life because it gave me a voice — and I intend to use it. For women, for beginners, for anyone who has ever felt they didn’t belong in sport.

On my court, and in my community, everyone matters.
